Watch Chicago Bears Preseason Game: Free Stream & TV Schedule

If you’ve spent a Saturday in August scrolling for a Bears stream, you already know the drill: preseason football is easy to find and oddly hard to pin down. The official route is simpler than it looks: ChicagoBears.com and the team app stream games for free in broadcast markets, and FOX 32 Chicago carries all three August games (Chicago Bears (official team site); The Sporting News (sports media)).

Primary broadcaster: FOX 32 Chicago · Free local stream: ChicagoBears.com and app · Preseason games: 3 in August 2026 · Finale: vs. Tennessee Titans, Aug 29 · Official source: ChicagoBears.com

Key broadcast facts

Eight broadcast facts, one pattern: the free route runs through FOX 32 and the team’s official stream, and every out-of-market option comes with fine print.

The pattern: the genuinely free options are local by design, and the national options all carry a subscription or a trial.

How to watch the Chicago Bears game live for free?

• Official team stream: ChicagoBears.com and the Bears app.
• Local TV: FOX 32 Chicago, on air or via the FOX Local app.
• Trial-based streaming: Fubo’s free trial for new subscribers.

The official team stream is the only one of the three with no trial attached — but it’s tied to where you live. Here’s how each route works.

Official ChicagoBears.com and the app stream

• Streams are available in markets where the local TV broadcast is carried (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• The 2026 coverage list runs to the US, UK, and Spain (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• Geographic and device restrictions apply (Chicago Bears (official team site)).

For fans inside a broadcast market, this is the best free option: no trial, no cable login, just the app and a decent connection. The restrictions are the trade-off — step outside the coverage area and the free stream stops being free, because it stops working.

Local FOX affiliate streaming (FOX 32 Chicago)

• FOX 32 Chicago is the local television carrier for all three 2026 preseason games (The Sporting News (sports media)).
• Its website and the FOX Local app stream the opener for Chicagoland viewers (FOX 32 Chicago (local FOX affiliate)).
• An over-the-air antenna gets the local FOX signal free inside the station’s coverage area (DIRECTV Insider (TV provider guide)).

If you’re in the Chicago area, the free combination is straightforward: FOX 32 on the TV, the FOX Local app on your phone, and zero subscription math. Outside the station’s coverage, the app hits the same wall the broadcast does.

Streaming fallbacks: NFL+ and Fubo

• NFL+ is the option the Bears’ official guide lists for viewers outside the Chicago area (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• Fubo carries all three preseason games (Yahoo Sports (sports media)).
• Fubo advertises a free trial for new subscribers (The Sporting News (sports media)).

Neither is permanently free — they’re subscriptions with a trial window. If you only care about one August game, the play is simple: start the Fubo trial near kickoff and cancel when the clock hits zero.

The pattern: “free” follows the coverage map. The team and FOX 32 both say it in their own words — the only question is which side of the map you’re on.

On what channel can I watch the Chicago Bears game today?

• Chicago area: FOX 32 — for all three preseason games (The Sporting News (sports media)).
• Nationally: NFL Network for the Cleveland and Tennessee games (The Sporting News (sports media)).
• Free over the air: an antenna inside the FOX 32 coverage area (DIRECTV Insider (TV provider guide)).
• Same channel, streaming: FOX 32’s website and the FOX Local app (FOX 32 Chicago (local FOX affiliate)).

Regular TV vs. over-the-air broadcast

• FOX is a broadcast network — no cable box required.
• An antenna is the only permanently free way into the local feed (DIRECTV Insider (TV provider guide)).

Your channel number depends on your provider and your neighborhood. What doesn’t change: the Bears’ preseason carrier in Chicago is FOX 32, and the same signal that reaches a smart TV also reaches a simple antenna.

Cable, satellite, and the FOX Local app

• Most cable and satellite lineups include the local FOX affiliate, so the game is a channel-guide search away.
• FOX 32’s website and the FOX Local app stream the opener for Chicagoland viewers (FOX 32 Chicago (local FOX affiliate)).

Cable and satellite work the same way: find FOX in the guide and tune in. The FOX Local app is the useful part — it turns a phone into the second screen when the TV is taken.

NFL Network: national carriage for select games

• Cleveland (Aug 15) and Tennessee (Aug 29) are also scheduled for national carriage on NFL Network (The Sporting News (sports media)).

What time is the next Bears game?

Opener: vs. Cleveland, Sat, Aug 15, noon CT · Week 2: vs. Cincinnati, Sat, Aug 22, 6 p.m. CT · Finale: vs. Tennessee, Sat, Aug 29, 5 p.m. CT

All three 2026 preseason games are Saturday games. The opener against Cleveland kicks at noon Central Time on Aug 15 (Chicago Bears (official team site)), Week 2 against Cincinnati is at 6 p.m. Central Time on Aug 22 (Chicago Bears (official team site)), and the finale against Tennessee is at 5 p.m. Central Time on Aug 29 (Chicago Bears (official team site)).

If you’re reading this before Aug 15, the next Bears game is the opener. After Aug 22, it’s the finale — and after Aug 29, the preseason is over.

The pattern: all three kickoffs are Saturday, but the times swing from noon to 6 p.m. to 5 p.m. CT — so the team’s official guide is the only clock that matters.

What’s the Chicago Bears preseason schedule?

• Week 1 — vs. Cleveland Browns: Saturday, August 15, 2026, noon Central Time (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• Week 2 — vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Saturday, August 22, 2026, 6 p.m. Central Time (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• Week 3 — vs. Tennessee Titans: Saturday, August 29, 2026, 5 p.m. Central Time (Chicago Bears (official team site)).

That’s the entire 2026 preseason: three games, all in August, per the Bears’ official how-to-watch guides (Chicago Bears (official team site)). FOX 32 Chicago carries the whole slate locally, and NFL Network adds national coverage for the Cleveland and Tennessee games (The Sporting News (sports media)).

The trade-off: a three-game preseason means the broadcast calendar is compressed — two national windows, one local-only game, and no room for a rain check.

Who is favored to win, Bears or Rams?

• The 2026 preseason slate is Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Tennessee (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• No Bears-Rams preseason game is on that slate.
• None of the broadcast sources in this guide publish a Bears-Rams preseason line.

The Rams keep appearing in “who’s favored” searches, but the confirmed schedule doesn’t include Los Angeles. A preview promising a Bears-Rams August game is either regular-season content or recycled guessing. If you’re looking for a line, the only grounded answer is the slate itself: Cleveland, Cincinnati, or Tennessee.

The implication: a “Bears vs. Rams” question is a schedule mix-up, not a matchup — and the only August question with a factual answer is which channel you’re watching.

Watch the Bears preseason game in five steps

1. Check your market. FOX 32 Chicago is the local carrier for all three games, so your local FOX affiliate is the default TV destination for the preseason (The Sporting News (sports media)).
2. Open the official stream if you’re in-market. ChicagoBears.com and the team app stream games where the local broadcast is carried — free (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
3. Stream via FOX 32 if you’re in Chicagoland. The station’s website and the FOX Local app stream the opener for local viewers (FOX 32 Chicago (local FOX affiliate)).
4. Go out-of-market with NFL+ or Fubo. NFL+ is the team’s listed option, and Fubo carries all three games with a free trial for new subscribers (Chicago Bears (official team site); Yahoo Sports (sports media); The Sporting News (sports media)).
5. Confirm kickoff on game day. The Bears post a how-to-watch guide for each game on their official site (Chicago Bears (official team site)).

The sequence matters because the free options are geographic, not universal. Follow it in order and you won’t pay for something FOX 32 already gives you.

2026 Bears preseason timeline

• Sat, Aug 15, noon CT — Preseason opener vs. Cleveland: FOX 32 locally, NFL Network nationally (The Sporting News (sports media)).
• Sat, Aug 22, 6 p.m. CT — Week 2 vs. Cincinnati: FOX 32 local broadcast, team stream in broadcast markets (Chicago Bears (official team site)).
• Sat, Aug 29, 5 p.m. CT — Preseason finale vs. Tennessee: FOX 32 locally, NFL Network nationally (The Sporting News (sports media)).

Read this as a broadcast map, not just a list of dates. Two of the three games get national NFL Network windows; the Cincinnati game on Aug 22 is the one out-of-market viewers need a streamer for (Yahoo Sports (sports media)).

The catch: the free streams are in-market only, which is why the “next game” answer changes depending on who’s asking.

Confirmed vs. unclear: what you can trust right now

The balance is deliberate: the confirmed list is short, and the unclear list is longer — because regional fine print is doing most of the work in this broadcast season.

What the sources actually say

“FOX32 Chicago is the local television carrier for all three 2026 Bears preseason games.”

The Sporting News (sports media)

“The Bears’ official website and mobile app provide preseason game streams for users in markets where the television broadcast is carried.”

Chicago Bears (official team site)

“FOX32’s stream of the Cleveland game is limited to viewers in the Chicagoland area.”

FOX 32 Chicago (local FOX affiliate)

What this means: the sources agree on the channels, and they’re equally careful about regions. The broadcast map is clear; the fine print is where the surprises live.

The takeaway

By the time the Bears wrap up the preseason against Tennessee on Aug 29, the broadcast story will come down to geography. Chicago-area fans get all three games free on FOX 32 or the team app; out-of-market fans get two national windows on NFL Network and a Cincinnati game that takes real planning. For out-of-market Bears fans, the choice is clear: line up NFL+ or a Fubo trial before Aug 15, or treat Aug 22 against Cincinnati as the matchup you’ll have to work hardest to watch.

Frequently asked questions

These questions address the central confusions: geographic limits, free versus trial options, and schedule specifics. Each answer underscores the same principle — free access is inherently local, and out-of-market viewing requires a paid option.
